Arsenal need to win the Europa League

Last summer, Spanish coach Unai Emery took on one of the toughest jobs in the Premier League when he became Arsenal head coach. Emery took over from a legend in Arsene Wenger.

The Frenchman’s last few years did not go the way anybody wanted them to. However, he was still a legend, who left behind a squad that was not exactly stellar.

Emery has done a decent job at Arsenal, but he is not a miracle worker. On Thursday night, though, the Spaniard saw his side book their place in the Europa League final by winning 4-2 at his former club Valencia, to win their semi-final 7-3 on aggregate.

The Gunners will face London rivals Chelsea on 29th May in the Azerbaijani capital of Baku.

Henderson´s Saudi move a ´massive step back´ for LGBT+ equality in football

Jordan Henderson s move to Saudi Arabia is a massive step back for LGBT+ equality in football.

That is the view of Paul Amann, who founded the Liverpool-backed fan group Kop Outs in 2016 to provide a voice for LGBT+ fans.

After a hugely successful 12-year spell that has seen him captain Liverpool to both Premier League and Champions League glory, Henderson joined Saudi Pro League side Al Ettifaq this week to play for Reds legend Steven Gerrard.

Henderson is rumoured to be earning up to £700,000 a week in the Gulf state, where it is illegal to be homosexual and LGBT+ rights are not recognised by the government.

Having been a strong supporter of LGBT+ equality while playing in the Premier League, including being a big advocate for the rainbow laces campaig…

Barcelona interested in Thomas Partey

Barcelona have expressed an interest in signing Thomas Partey from Arsenal next summer, according to Spanish outlet Relevo (via ).

The Catalans are believed to be looking for cut-price solutions to strengthen their squad as they battle various financial issues. The Ghana international runs out of contract at the Emirates at the end of this season, and Barcelona obviously see him as a suitable, high-quality option in the transfer market.

Partey has frequently struggled with injuries since joining Arsenal from Atletico Madrid in 2020, and at the age of 31, he has seen his role in Mikel Arteta s squad diminish in importance as that of Declan Rice grows. It has been reported that he s looking for a way to leave North London as a result.

That said, Partey started all…

Rashford vows to not slow down after continuing Man Utd scoring run

Marcus Rashford has no intentions of slowing down after continuing his impressive scoring form in Manchester United s 3-0 victory over Leicester City on Sunday.

Rashford was twice on target as United cruised to a straightforward win over Brendan Rodgers side, moving five points behind Premier League leaders Arsenal, having played a game more.

The England international has scored 24 times this season across all competitions, his best return in a single campaign, with 16 of those coming in 17 games after the World Cup break.

He has netted 17 goals at Old Trafford in all competitions this term, the most by a player in a single season for United since Wayne Rooney in the 2011-12 campaign.

With a crucial week ahead, in which United face Barcelona in the second…

World Cup 2018: Samba drums, French farce and Spanish tears in Moscow

The plot to a stunning World Cup has thickened over the past week with the group stages coming to a dramtic denouement.

Meet the 2022 NBA Draft’s mystery man

The 2022 NBA Draft’s most enigmatic player has arrived. Leonard Miller’s blank 247 Sports and Rivals pages are a tribute to how little he was recruited or scouted until recently. His Rivals recruiting page might as well be a ‘404 Not Found’ screen. He has no Rivals rating, no national rank and his ranking among small forwards is nil. The only bio information available lists him as a lanky 6-foot-10, 210-pound forward playing at Fort Erie International Academy in Toronto. However, in the right-hand corner of the screen I noticed they’ve tabulated that he has 10 offers pending and the fan projection predicts he will be attending Kentucky. This has to be a long con. It’s not uncommon for some impetuous high school student-athlete to gin up attention for themselves by generat…
