Dan Burn has signed a new contract with Newcastle, extending the validity of his commitment to the club until the summer of 2025, 12 months longer than his previous deal.
The 31-year-old defender, unusually tall for a fullback at 6 6 , has been a very important player in Eddie Howe s team since arriving to St. James Park from Brighton in January 2022. He played a vital part in their run to Champions League qualification throughout last season, and this term, he s already scored more goals than in 2022/23, netting against Sheffield United and Paris Saint-Germain.
Interestingly enough, Newcastle were Burn s first club at youth level, but being one of football s late bloomers, he played for a variety of clubs before finally settling down at Brighton in January 2019. In the…
